ChangeNOW x LISAA x Ephemere Square competition: Innovation at the heart of a creative challenge

The Ephemere Square x ChangeNOW competition challenged LISAA students to create an innovative, modular and committed structure. For three months, they pushed back the limits of their creativity using sustainable materials. A great learning experience for the students, and a step towards the future of sustainable events.

At Ephemere Square, we're passionate about pushing the boundaries of ephemeral architecture through innovation and eco-responsibility. This fall, in partnership with ChangeNOW, we launched an ultra-inspiring competition for students in the international 3ᵉ year class of the Interior Architect & Designer course at LISAA (L'Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués) in Paris.

The challenge? To design an innovative, modular and eco-responsible structure, illustrating the maritime and river issues of today and tomorrow.

A creative challenge and an educational experience

With our Ephemere Square modules, designed to be durable, demountable and reusable, the students were able to explore new ways of conceiving temporary architecture, and they rose to the challenge with flying colors!

For three months, ideas flowed and participants demonstrated exceptional creativity. Each project was allowed to incorporate only 10% custom elements, and all the rest had to be made up of elements from our catalog. The result? Ingenious concepts, in-depth reflection and concrete confrontation with the challenges of eco-design, optimizing existing resources to limit the ecological footprint.

From concept to reality

The jury - made up of experts from ChangeNOW, Ephemere Square and a professional scenographer - had the difficult task of deciding between the projects, so high was the level of creativity and ingenuity. In the end, Elard Paredes, Faustine Terrier, Amelia Nichols and Ariana Verdoucq took first place with a project that stood out for its conceptual intelligence and innovative visuals.

And guess what? This project is becoming a reality! Today, we're proud to see their concept come to life in the form of a genuine meeting and exchange space, which will host the official programming of theWater Odyssey by ChangeNOW during their international summit from April 24 to 26. Conferences, workshops, discussions... everything is designed to raise awareness and inspire around the preservation of aquatic resources. A space open to all, located directly on the banks of the Seine in front of the Grand Palais in Paris. An exceptional setting to showcase the creativity, commitment and talent of our students!

A lasting commitment to the future

At Ephemere Square, we firmly believe that design and architecture have a key role to play in the ecological transition. This competition is a perfect illustration of young talent's ability to imagine sustainable, innovative solutions to the environmental challenges of our time.

A huge thank you to ChangeNOW, LISAA, and all the students, teachers and supervisors who helped make this competition a success.

Thanks to you, we're building a more respectful and inspiring future together!
